Michael Kerr

Equally at ease facing proofs, protos, and the dreaded conference presentation but still able to work magic with a pen and paper, fabrics and Illustrator.

I studied classical arts for 4 yrs and then finished the 3 year design program at George Brown College in 2 years as well as earning my Bachelor of Arts Degree from York University.

I began my career at popular Canadian brand ROOTS eventually headed up the men's design department as well as olympic designs , I then went on to be the national merchandise manager for Nike Canada Ltd, where I led the growth of Jordan brand, basketball and lifestyle . Following Nike I led men's design for "Club Monaco" founder Joseph Mimran and the Joe Fresh brand opening his New York office and stand alone doors. Leaving Joe to return to ROOTS Canada as design director and then finally finding my home at Canada Goose.

I believe in a creative approach that questions the status-quo and pushes the boundaries but holds the ideal that "good design is obvious and great design is transparent ."
